Strike in Finland
Published 2023-02-16Yesterday morning the Finnish Transport Workers’ Union (AKT) initiated a strike due to a dispute regarding the general employment conditions for port and terminal workers. The negotiations will resume later this week, but so far, the parties have not reached an agreement.
The vessel operations, gate moves and handling of containers within the terminals will therefore be closed until further notice.
Based on the information we have received, planned deliveries to and from the ports are also affected.
Air freight operations in Finland appear to continue to function as before, with a certain risk of disruption connected to the deliveries to and from the airport.
