At the end of last week, a series of missile attacks occurred in the Red Sea. According to the information that we have received at least three container ships have been targeted in the attacks.
In this serious situation, it is reassuring that no casualties have been reported. However, one of the ships lost several containers and a fire broke out during the attack.
We have identified the names of the attacked vessels and based on that information; we can confirm that none of our cargo was aboard.
Due to the dangerous situation in the area, shipping companies have decided to redirect their routes to/from Asia until the passage through the Red Sea is safe again. Consequently, it will result in longer sailing times, changed schedules and less capacity on the trade lane between Far East and Europe.
These attacks occur in a market experiencing rapid volume growth which means that it´s already in a strained situation. So, we sincerely hope that there will be no further attacks and that the situation will stabilize soon.
We will continue to follow the situation closely and will keep those affected informed of any changes to arrival dates.
Best regards,
C Land Logistics.
