During the last couple of months, we have confirmed several blank sailings from ocean carriers due to a reduced demand on the Far East – Europe trade lane.
In other words, it means that ocean carriers are removing boats from their intended schedule, which reduces the total capacity.
We have analyzed the three alliances for the next week, and we can see that a third of the total capacity is taken away due to these blank sailings. In other words, more than 100,000 of the total capacity of approx. 310,000 TEU/week has been removed for the coming week 48.
The consequences that we can see of this situation is that the offered departures are fewer than usual, which can lead to changes against our intended timetables. However, at the same time, we want to clarify that there is still space and equipment on the departing boats.
We continue to follow the developments closely and feel free to contact us for further information.
Sincerely,
C Land Logistics.
